vGeo
The Ultimate Solution in
Data Visualization & Knowledge Discovery
Exploration to Presentation
In addition to its powerful data exploration capabilities, vGeo's multimedia features enable you to create compelling presentations for seminars, workshops, outreach demonstrations, and exhibits. Now, using the same application you used to explore your data, you can also share what you discovered. Rather than needing several applications to present various types of data – slides, images, simulations, observations, video clips, etc. – all can be presented in one application…vGeo!
Macro-capable taskbar buttons
Use vGeo’s macro-capable taskbar buttons to sequence through a series of events to support your talk or presentation. The buttons are easily customized via simple ascii configuration files, and each click can be programmed to do a number of things. For example, the first few clicks of a taskbar button might sequence through some introductory slides, the next click could show some graphical objects and start animation, and the following click might fly a navigation route along a pre-recorded path. Customizing taskbar buttons is easy to do, and it avoids having to use menus and panels during important presentations to colleagues, managers, and the general public, for example.
vGeoAction
vGeoAction is a new supporting application that allows you to automate vGeo actions. The actions are similar to those in programmable taskbar buttons, but the sequencing may be explicitly timed and automated or continuously looped. This is especially useful for stand-alone demonstrations and exhibits in outreach centers, science centers, and museums.
Savesets
vGeo’s new saveset capability enables you to save vGeo’s graphics to a single file that can later be reloaded or shared with another user. When a saveset file is shared and/or reloaded, no underlying data is required, so file transfers are much smaller and load time is much shorter than build time – typically just a few seconds! This also saves space and time when transferring vGeo worlds from a workstation to a laptop before going to a conference, for example – rather than transferring what might be gigabytes of data, simply transfer a vGeo saveset that includes graphical representations of your data, plus you can have your presentation pre-programmed into one or more of the taskbar buttons.
Play movies and sound
Add another dimension to your presentation by importing movies and sound into your vGeo world. This allows you to play an introductory sound byte or media clip, for example, as part of your presentation.
Create movies and images
Capture animations to MPEG movies or snapshots to JPEG images to publish and share with colleagues. vGeo has simple interfaces for capturing movies and images, plus several options for added flexibility. |
