vGeo
The Ultimate Solution in
Data Visualization & Knowledge Discovery
Powerful Data Fusion
vGeo allows the user to simultaneously visualize many data sources, each data source potentially having a different scale and resolution. This is uncharacteristic of most scientific visualization tools which only provide interaction with one data source at a time. vGeo is capable of creating compelling, comprehensive visualizations by merging together multiple data sets which includes: grids of regular and irregular topology, moving sensor time series, images, and even geometries constructed by other applications and loaded as VRML files.
The ability to merge a large number of disparate data sources into one common, coherent view will facilitate better analysis and interpretation given the nature of today’s scientific studies. The benefit of using this form of collaboration was recently utilized in part of a joint NASA/EPA air quality analysis. Data from satellites, air quality monitoring ground stations, meteorological forecasts, and fire counts were brought together to visualize and study a specific air quality event. The story that emerged from the vGeo analysis using multiple data sets was distinctly different than the interpretation manifested from any single data source.
