Mechdyne has provided a large flat-screen visualization system, called the "Knowledge Wall," for the Joint Transformation Command - Intelligence (JTC-I) Joint Intelligence Laboratory (JIL) in Suffolk, Virginia. JTC-I uses the Knowledge Wall in an experimental environment to test intelligence concepts, processes, technology and prototype initiatives.
The 13-ft high by 37-ft wide Knowledge Wall is rear-projected with eight (8) ultra-high resolution Sony projectors for a total screen resolution of more than 53 million pixels. The center third of the screen is capable of rendering simultaneous active and passive stereo for immersive visualization.
Over 50 (fifty) consolidation points throughout the JIL provide computer and CATV generated sources for multi-windowing. The system utilizes Mechdyne's Conduitâ„¢ for Google Earth Pro and ESRI's ArcGIS software.
All video sources route through a 144 x 144 fiber optic matrix switch that is controlled by an AMX touch-panel control system. For additional viewing of Knowledge Wall content, 16 (sixteen), 63" plasma panels are installed throughout both levels of the laboratory. Audio support is divided into eight (8) independently controllable zones on the both levels of the JIL.
