VRCO Partners with E&S to Enable 3D Immersive Visualization of New Database Effort Virginia Beach, VA - April 11, 2003 - VRCO Inc. (VRCO) announced that they will participate with Evans & Sutherland in a $10.8 million dollar, three-year effort funded by the Naval Air Systems Command, acting for the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office. The objective of the contract, entitled the "Rapid Database Generation Research Initiative," is to conceptualize, create, and test an architecture and process that will enable imagery and sensor data from disparate sources to be rapidly validated, correlated, distributed, and displayed in a standard format. VRCO will provide support to enable interactive 3D visualization capabilities to the resulting database. Other types of data useful for making rapid decisions about complex scenarios will also be added to the resulting visualization environment including meteorological and oceanographic data, 3D models of objects, and other tactical information.
