VRCO Introduces 64-bit Visualization Clusters on Windows CAVELib Brings the Power of 64-bit Visualization Clusters to the Windows Environment Phoenix, AZ - November 17, 2003 - VRCO, Inc., a developer of software toolkits and applications for the interactive 3D (i3D) visualization market, is pleased to announce that it is showing its latest 64-bit data visualization capabilities in Microsoft’s® booth (#3011) at Supercomputing 2003 (www.sc-conference.org/sc2003) using a cluster of HP Workstation zx6000's, and a tiled display wall from Visbox. “We believe VRCO is offering the first commercially available, turnkey, 64-bit Windows-based, i3D visualization cluster display system” says Matt Szymanski, VRCO’s CTO. “SC has a long-standing history of being 'the place' to showcase the newest solutions for solving large data problems. We felt it was imperative that we announce the availability of this product to this community first.” VRCO is using nine (9) HP Workstation zx6000's, each running Microsoft's 64-bit Windows® Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, with dual Intel® Itanium® 2 processors, 6G of RAM, and an ATI FireGL™ X1 256-p graphics card. The display system is comprised of 9 projectors arranged in a 3x3 array, creating an overall resolution of greater than 7 million pixels. “HP is pleased to be working with VRCO, a global leader in data visualization technology and one of the earliest companies in the interactive 3D visualization market to offer applications for Itanium-based HP workstations,” said Mark Ewers, worldwide workstation segment marketing manager, Personal Systems Group, HP. VRCO will be showing a new version of vGeo™, their acclaimed interactive data fusion and visual analysis tool designed to meet the complex challenges faced by today's scientists and engineers. The vGeo application is built on another key VRCO product, CAVELib™, which is a toolkit for developing i3D visualization applications. CAVELib handles all network and inter-PC communications for data sharing and synchronization, thus making CAVELib-based applications easily configurable for cluster environments. "We are excited to have the VRCO solution showcased in Microsoft’s Supercomputing 2003 booth,” said Greg Rankich, HPC Solution Manager, Microsoft Corp. “By providing 64-bit data visualization capabilities, VRCO provides organizations another compelling reason to standardize on the Windows platform.” ### About Mechdyne Corporation Mechdyne Corporation is the world’s largest company dedicated to consulting and development of immersive, networked and collaborative visualization systems.
