VRCO Releases Immersive for Vega Prime

VRCO's Latest Software Enables Vega Prime Applications for Immersive 3D Displays

Virginia Beach, VA - January 12, 2005 - VRCO, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of a new product, Immersive for Vega Prime™. Designed for the visual simulation market, Immersive for Vega Prime allows applications developed using MultiGen-Paradigm's® Vega Prime™ to be displayed in a tracked immersive 3D (i3D) display environment.

Vega Prime is a flexible, extensible COTS development environment toolkit from MultiGen-Paradigm used in the creation and deployment of visual simulation, urban simulation, and general visualization applications. With its powerful combination of advanced functionality and ease of use, Vega Prime delivers the infrastructure to rapidly develop and deploy accurate, real-time 3D software applications.

The Immersive for Vega Prime module simplifies the creation of truly immersive 3D visual simulation applications for a variety of target markets. It couples the well-tested capabilities available in VRCO's CAVELib™ i3D toolkit and Vega Prime's existing trackd® support for input devices. This combination enables the Immersive module to display Vega Prime applications on single or multi-wall i3D display systems, complete with correct viewer centered perspective and 6-degree-of-freedom tracker support. Immersive fully supports both multi-pipe supercomputers and PC clusters, and can display on custom or commercial systems comprised of up to thirty-two (32) projection screens.

"We have brought new immersive 3D capabilities to the visual simulation market by integrating our proven technology with the known strengths of Vega Prime," says Matt Szymanski, Chief Technology Officer of VRCO. "All visual simulation users who require correct viewer perspective in order to understand and take advantage of complex spatial relationships often found in 3D simulations will be very interested in this product. Specific uses include visual simulation for training in urban warfare, instruction on the operation of heavy machinery, and architectural walk-throughs."

"VRCO's unmatched experience in immersive technologies combined with Vega Prime's extensible architecture provides users with an ideal solution to the problems of immersive 3D environment application development," said Doug Price, Director of Technology Strategy. "Vega Prime users can now have the capability to easily and effectively make any application suitable for immersive environments."
