VRCO Releases New Version of trackd

VRCO's Latest trackd Release Adds Support for Additional Devices

Virginia Beach, VA - January 28, 2005 - VRCO, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of a new version of trackd®, version 5.5 which includes additional device support and some minor bug fixes.

One of the major enhancements of this release is that trackd now provides DirectX support for joysticks and gamepads. These devices can serve as low cost input controllers for applications running on Windows®. Applications running on Linux or UNIX® based display systems may also utilize this capability by connecting the devices to a Windows PC and configuring the trackdserver to ship the data across the network as required.

Also as part of this release, several hardware companies created trackd modules for their respective systems using the trackdSDK and contributed these modules for inclusion with this release. The trackdSDK allows customers and 3rd party developers to extend trackd's capabilities for devices not supported directly by VRCO. The newly created modules include support for A.R.T. trackers, Polhemus LIBERTY and PATRIOT, and Vicon motion capture systems.

trackd 5.5 is available now as an upgrade to all customers with a valid maintenance contact. Pricing and upgrade information is available by contacting VRCO at sales@vrco.com.
