vGeo 3.0 Released

Improved GIS Support Enhances World's Most Capable 3D Visualization Package

Virginia Beach, VA - April 26, 2005 - VRCO, Inc. announces the much-anticipated release of vGeo 3.0 – the Virtual Global Explorer and Observatory – an interactive, three-dimensional visual analysis software system. The latest enhancements to vGeo improve its usability and simplify the transformation of raw data into easily understood 3D visualizations. Already known as the premier software for easy fusion and display of large data sets from multiple sources, vGeo’s data import, analysis and presentation capabilities have been greatly expanded in this latest release. Added support for several standard data formats, including GIS and terrain databases, make it easier than ever to visualize observed and modeled data of all types over realistic domains.

vGeo Product Manager, Dr. John Holdzkom states "I'm very excited about the continued evolution of vGeo capabilities. Our new spatial reference model framework and GIS support has increased by orders of magnitude the amount of data that can be directly imported and analyzed by vGeo. Now, more types of data have become accessible and usable to anyone who needs to see and share what is really happening."

Sharing the process and results of knowledge discovery is another key utility of vGeo, and several significant enhancements were made in this area. Now, sequences of vGeo events can be automated to create stand-alone demonstrations or exhibits, and movies and sound may be imported for full multi-media 3D presentations. Users are also able to save graphical geometries to a single file that can later be reloaded or shared with another user, independent of the underlying data sources. Complex data import, exploration, and presentation are all now available in one application – vGeo 3.0.

vGeo 3.0 is available for Linux, Windows, and IRIX operating systems. Full vGeo functionality is available on a spectrum of systems, from high-end immersive displays to desktop workstations, and VRCO offers bundled hardware/software packages. Multiple seat server and cluster licenses are also available. For a complete list of new capabilities, visit www.mechdyne.com and view the release notes in the software section.
