Today's research and education organizations are engaging audiences more effectively and increasing learning and retention thanks to high resolution, immersive and interactive visualization technologies by Mechdyne.
By bringing ever more complex data to life, research and educational organizations are quickly achieving greater insight and enjoying more "Eureka moments." Watch the video from the University of Houston or look at the examples below. See how educational organizations worldwide are learning that engaging students with visualized content contributes to knowledge retention, raises the credibility of their research, and expands teaching options.
King Abdullah University of Science & Technology - Saudi Arabia
Highlights of the facilities include seven collaborative environments supporting high-resolution, 3D stereoscopic imaging capability. Designed and engineered by Mechdyne, KAUST's showcase system is the "Cornea," the world's brightest six-sided immersive room.
Arizona State University - Phoenix, Arizona
Mechdyne provided Arizona State University (ASU) with an immersive theater featuring seven screens joined together to form one large multi-faceted viewing area with minute pixel accuracy. ASU's Decision Theater uses a program that integrates geographic information system (GIS), three-dimensional computer graphics and virtual reality tools to offer rich visualizations.
Iowa State University - Ames, Iowa
Mechdyne has provided several solutions for ISU, including North America's first six-sided CAVE™ system, a four-channel FLEX™ system, and a visualization auditorium. All three systems are linked to enable collaboration and data sharing.
Los Alamos National Laboratory - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Mechdyne provided one of the world's highest resolution visualization room for the Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Rowan University - Glassboro, New Jersey
Mechdyne has provided Rowan University (RU) with a four sided CAVE™. The new virtual reality system was installed as part of Rowan University's Samuel H. Jones Innovation Center at South Jersey Technology Park and is being used by graduate students to simulate scenarios like a NASA rocket launch or walking through the interiors of a U.S. Navy ship.
Sandia National Laboratory - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Mechdyne has custom designed, built and integrated several visualization systems for Sandia's Microsystems and Engineering Sciences Applications (MESA) NanoLab facility, including an Education Center, Design Center, and Design Review Conference Room. The Education Center features an extreme resolution PowerWall™
Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Egypt
Mechdyne has provided Bibliotheca Alexandrina with a reconfigurable FLEX environment. Two 10-ft x 10-ft walls and a floor projection surface form the corner of a cube, while a third 10-ft x 10-ft wall moves at the press of a button to change the environment from an immersive room to an L-shaped theater for viewing by a large audience.
Pacific Northwest Labs - Richland, Washington
Mechdyne installed a blended Hi-Powerwall™ for Pacific Northwest Labs in Richland, Washington, for data analysis and visually stimulating presentations. The rear projected Hi-Powerwall™ is comprised of 12 HD resolution projectors engineered into a 4X3 stacked configuration.
Washington University - St. Louis, Missouri
Mechdyne provided Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with a four channel CAVE™. The system is used to review Mars data being sent back to earth from one of the two Mars Rovers, and to analyze data from the Phoenix satellite which is exploring Mars' North Pole.
Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information - South Korea
Mechdyne has provided an ultra high resolution, rear-projected curved-screen visualization system for the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KISTI). The system uses four of the latest Sony SXRD 4K digital large-venue projectors to provide a 16 million pixel display.
