Mechdyne provided Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with a four channel CAVE™. The system is used to review Mars data being sent back to earth from one of the two Mars Rovers, and to analyze data from the Phoenix satellite which is exploring Mars' North Pole. WUSTL is also now receiving stereoscopic imagery from the recently launched Moon Rover project.
The modular designed CAVE™ consists of four Hitachi Beacon stacked projectors, and Intesense tracking system. Mechyne staff also designed and built a customized desk for the room where the system is housed. The CAVE™ at Washington University utilizes Mechdyne's Conduit™ software for ESRI with trackd™, with a specialized module to work with ArcGIS 3D explorer.
