Mechdyne is working with Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army's Command and Control Directorate in support of research in the Directorate's C4ISR Visualization Laboratory and ROVR Laboratory.
As part of CERDEC's on-going programs, Mechdyne previously delivered a reconfigurable FLEX™ and portable ROVR™ visualization systems. Configured as an immersive room in the C4ISR Lab, the FLEX™ is integrated with C2 software to give battlefield commanders a complete look-around view that provides a complete sense of presence in a battlefield situation.
The ROVR™ Lab consists of three Mechdyne ROVR™ transportable visualization systems configured as an immersive room. Each mobile ROVR™ large screen can be set up and presenting stereoscopic images in as little as 15 minutes.
As part of this latest initiative, CERDEC is also utilizing Mechdyne's Conduit™ software. The ultimate goal is to improve commanders' analysis capabilities and enhance their ability to conduct more realistic mission rehearsals. It is hoped the system will also assist in mission planning and teaching Army personnel how to act decisively in the face of quickly changing circumstances.
