Marshalltown, Iowa – June 2016 – Yesterday, Mechdyne received the 2016 Integration Award for the Best Higher Education Project from Commercial Integrator during an awards ceremony at InfoComm, the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America. Our partnership with the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at Wichita State University (WSU) and Dassault Systèmes resulted in the largest reconfigurable FLEX immersive visualization system ever deployed by Mechdyne. WSU’s vision is to enhance engineering and design processes, user testing, and virtual prototyping while shortening product development timelines. After working together with WSU and Dassault for over a year to fully conceptualize the university’s vision, Mechdyne provided a turnkey audiovisual and information technology (AV/IT) solution in the form of a reconfigurable FLEX immersive visualization system, software, and support services.

“Our focus on helping clients like WSU and Dassault achieve their goals and vision always drives our solutions,” says Mechdyne senior vice president James Gruening. “I am very proud of our team and ongoing collaborative efforts with our clients.”

The world of manufacturing is quickly shifting towards utilizing virtual product design, review, and validation to accelerate the time-to-market while decreasing cost. WSU leveraged their relationship with Mechdyne to develop an invaluable tool to increase the quality and scope of aerospace, defense, life sciences, and other industrial products. WSU students and researchers experience deep collaboration, insight, and understanding while utilizing the latest in virtual reality technology.

The 2016 Integration Awards presented by Commercial Integrator recognize top organizations who successfully address client needs with innovative and noteworthy installations. Commercial Integrator awarded multiple technology partners in different categories for outstanding solutions. Judges reviews a solution's "wow" factor and whether the project exceeded client expectations. Winners will receive recognition in the July issue of Commercial Integrator magazine and on

“On behalf of the entire Mechdyne team, I would like to thank Commercial Integrator for their continued support of the industry,” says Gruening. “We are humbled to be in the same company with the other award winners and very proud of this achievement.”
