Connection Portal Features

Connection Portal’s web-based interface provides easy and intuitive use for end-users and administrators. The powerful search engine specifies software and hardware criteria to locate available assets, including a live inventory of compute resources. The program monitors and reports your sessions, and provides instant remote desktop session brokering. If you would like to add a new user, collaboration requests locate a user by name and send a request to share the screen.

Server-side:

  • J2EE application package (typically hosted on JBoss)
  • JDBC Database back-end (MySQL. Oracle, MS SQL available upon request)
  • Server can be delivered as a ready-to-instantiate virtual machine
  • Operating system support: RHEL and Windows Server

Receiver-side (end-user):

  • No software installed on client
  • Adobe Flash interface inside a web-page
  • Operating system support: Windows (XP, Vista, 7; x86 and 64), Linux (CentOS, RHEL, Fedora)

Sender-side (compute assets):

  • Operating system support: Windows (XP, Vista, 7; x86 and 64), Linux (CentOS, RHEL, Fedora)
  • Local daemon for session monitoring and inventory management
