The California Academy of Sciences houses one of, if not the most, impressive planetariums in the country. Called the Morrison Planetarium, the theater showcases the Academy’s original shows and programs. Although the Planetarium was rebuilt to its stunning grandeur in 2007, the outdated technology was beginning to show its age by 2016. With a limited window of time to upgrade the digital dome technology, the Academy partnered with Mechdyne Corporation for its ability to engineer brand new technology and modify existing solutions.
As a result, the Academy’s visitors now experience a breathtaking story each time they attend a show. With extremely high resolution, a seamless image across the screens, and booming audio, the Academy delivers a truly magical experience.
